2013/2014 Wishlist 2.0

Wishlist 2.0

It's a week before Christmas. Time definitely goes fast this year. Here's another guide in buying holiday gifts. Of course, this version is the more affordable one. I have been getting "feedbacks" that the wish list I posted previously was a bit on the higher end so I decided to list a another one.

I warn you though, I'll most likely purchase these myself anyways whether I get it as a gift or not. Haha!

Wishlist 2013/14

Wishlist 2013

'Tis the season! A quick guide for everyone who thinks it's a challenge as to what gift to give me this Christmas. Or whichever occasion it is really (ie. my birthday) Honestly, it doesn't really matter to me even if people don't get me anything. It's the thought that counts. Really though, whenever people ask me what I want, my brain goes blank for some reason and I couldn't think of anything. For me it's better if I buy them myself because my mind keeps changing.

Save A Life: Winter Gala

December 6, 2013 - Save a Life: Winter Gala.

You've most likely heard about the typhoon that hit the Philippines - Typhoon Haiyan, also known as Typhoon Yolanda - last month. It is said to be the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, killing at least 6,000 people. Until now, they are still in the process of recovering and Christmas is right around the corner! So the Motives team "Beautinnout" partnered with Youth in Action Toronto to organize a fundraising event in relief for typhoon Haiyan's victims in the country.

Mixing Prints: Grey Tones

I never knew I'd have this obsession with hats in this year's fall/winter season. I'm not really a hat type of girl even when there's crazy snow outside. I never wear them due to the fact that I don't like to ruin my hair. As soon as I wear a toque or beanie or whatever you call it, I can never take it off because it makes my hair look flat.

Saturday Lunch Date

The Gods have bestowed a nice, sunny day upon Toronto. Can't thank them enough for providing warm fall weather! And there's no better way to spend it than to have lunch with a girl friend.

17 November 2013

Since this is my first official fashion week, I decided to dress up a bit. And by "a little," I meant go all out! Haha just kidding.. Well all I wanted was to wear something memorable.

Navy Hues

About a month ago (yes I know.. so long ago already), the boyfriend and I went to the zoo. Don't judge. No one's too old to go to the zoo I tell ya! Anyway, the weather was great so I decided to see a bunch of animals. Can't let this amazing weather pass without staying outdoors!

Country Vibe

The wind is colder and the days are shorter.. It's time to take out those knee high boots and cozy cardigans!

Dresses are definitely one of my staple pieces for the fall season. It's such a good transition piece paired with knee high boots and a long cardigan. So no need to worry for those chilly nights, you're still covered!

Orange and Lime

Funny story. I got this pumpkin orange dress at H&M a couple years ago -- AND I NEVER GOT TO WEAR IT UNTIL THAT NIGHT! This is one sign that my clothing addiction is going way overboard. Imagine this dress hidden in my closet not for two months but for two years! Back then, I had no idea how to style it until it has been long forgotten.

We Own The Night

This will be my last summer outfit post! (Maybe).

Centre Point

Yet again another overdue post. I went all the way to Niagara Falls with the closest of my friends for my birthday weekend. It was indeed a very fun two-day one-night trip.

Christian Louboutin @ DX

It's been a month since I've been here and I still haven't gotten over the fact that it's over. So if you missed this exhibit, let me give you a mini tour...

Bluer than Blue

Maxi skirt was one of my staple pieces for the summer (although I still wear it sometimes now that it's already fall).

While most people would normally go for a neutral colour (ie. black) as a first purchase, I decided to go bold and got myself a solid, bright blue skirt. I never regretted buying it but I find it very challenging what colour I should pair it with. So I went with a black and white top.

Crop Top High Waist

Afraid to wear cropped tops this season? Don't worry there's one solution to that: pair it with high waists.

The first time I've seen people wear crop tops, I wasn't really paying attention to the trend. But as I keep discovering how others style it, I've become more and more interested. That's when it hit me. I decided I had to try it and get out of my comfort zone. Which, by the way, was quite challenging at the beginning!

Lavazza Espression

I decided to go for a late afternoon stroll after a long day at the internship. Unexpected plans are usually the most worthwhile because you'll never know what you're gonna experience. And this day was one of those.

#whosnimrod Photo Exhibit

July 26, 2013 - 26 Photos. 26th Day. 26 Years.

"It's not all about posing and trends. I suck at directing my subjects but I want them to be in it to express themselves. The photos I took not only the models but also Nimrod. Like how they react and such." -Nimrod Mendoza

Birthday Blues, huh?

Reliving those hot summer days. It's only August and I'm already preparing my sweaters and cardigans for the unusual cold nights. I guess this is my karma for complaining too much about the heat. I'm not ready for summer to end yet since I felt like I had no vacation at all! Plus, it's this time of year again: experiencing the birthday blues.

Funny how it was only last week that I was super excited for my birthday. And now it's hitting me. Another year older. The good thing is... I am officially legal all over the world! Who wouldn't feel happy for that? ;)

Out of the Comfort Zone

As mentioned in my last post ( click here ), I am obsessed with maxi skirts this season. And like I said, they are very comfortable. Solid coloured maxi skirts are the most versatile because you can pretty much pair it with anything whether it be a printed top or not. As long as both pieces complement each other. For this outfit, I found the perfect tie dye maxi skirt. What drew me into purchasing this was because of a tie dye cardigan from Urban Outfitters that I've been eye-ing for quite a while now. I didn't care on how much the skirt was. It must be a part of my wardrobe and it was definitely worth it.

J.W. Anderson x Topshop

Last Thursday, February 28th, I had to opportunity to preview J.W. Anderson's Spring 2013 collection and collaboration with Topshop at The Bay on Queen Street. The store was filled with fashion enthusiasts, students, bloggers, and shoppers alike. Flare magazine's Truc Nguyen hosted an intimate evening and gave a quick overview about the designer and his collection. Most importantly, don't forget to grab a copy of Flare's April edition to read and learn more about J.W. Anderson!
